Personal recommendation is the best form of advertising
Tanzania Travel & Safari Company hold on file many, many letters of recommendation. Here are a few of the testimonials we have received
Dear all @ Tanzania Travel
Company
Thank you for a trip we shall
always remember and always
cherish. Thank you all for
making our recent holiday such a
truly wonderful experience. Our
holiday in Tanzania arranged by
TTC surpassed all our hopes and
expectations. We had a wonderful
time with Jerome and Emmanuel in
the Usambara Mountains. We
learnt so much on our
educational strolls with Jerome!
The camping with Emmanuel and
cordon bleu chef Maxi was truly
amazing. Emmanuel is one of the
best drivers ever and his
knowledge of Tanzania – its
people, birds, animals and
politics and his willingness to
answer our endless questions
about anything and everything
was very much appreciated. With
their help we identified over
150 beautiful birds and had
wonderful views of so many
animals from lion ‘weddings’ to
tortoises, and much in between.
Both Emmanuel and Maxi were
always considerate and courteous
and enormous fun.
Whilst we spent most of our time
with them we also appreciate all
the hard work that all the rest
of the team at TCC put in to
making our trip such a success –
the tents, the food, the vehicle
maintenance, the permits, the
booking all went without a
hitch.
We cannot praise you all highly
enough – it was a trip of a life
time and we would recommend TTC
to anyone.

Dear Sam
I have just returned to the UK
having completed the above trek
and wanted to let you know just
how fantastic I thought it was.
I feel it is a real tribute to
your company's organisational
skills that the trek was such a
success for all those involved
and that every aspect of the
journey surpassed my
expectations many times.
In terms of the walking itself,
I felt totally supported by your
team, from Monane and William
with their wealth of knowledge
and information, to Clarence who
removed a thorn from my arm with
infinite care. Having the
vehicles close by was reassuring
for many members of the group
and all of your staff showed a
caring and considerate attitude
to the visitors that took into
account their safety at all
times. In particular, Themba was
emmensely skillful in monitoring
the needs of the group,
constantly vigilant and stepping
in if he thought anyone was in
need of help. He liased with
Clare, the Charity Challenge
rep, in a professional and
courteous manner and always
resolved issues with a calm
willingness. He brought a warmth
and sense of fun to the group
which was echoed by many members
of your staff.
In camp, the level of comfort
provided was greater than I ever
could have imagined. Good Luck
and his fantastic team provided
the most wonderful and delicious
food and the sight of a welcome
smile, cool towel and glass of
juice was just a miracle as we
staggered into camp after each
day's trekking.
Lastly, the level of contact
that we achieved with the Massai
was really fascinating, from the
village visit to performances
that were provided in camp on
more than one occasion. It felt
a privilege to observe these
people leading their lives in a
way that didn't feel constructed
for the tourists.
Please extend my heartfelt
thanks to all of your staff who
were involved in the trek. They
should know that each of them
contributed to giving me the
experience of a lifetime, which
I shall never forget.
With best wishes
Georgie Oldroyde

Jambo Clare,
We knew that Jeremy had called as my nephew told us, a nice thought. We all made the climb, it was a fabulous experience. Daniel was our guide and he was excellent - knew a lot about the national park and it's flora and fauna which was a real bonus. Soban kept our spirits up with his 400 soup varieties and his determination to convince us it was never cold on the mountain, even when he delivered tea to out tents first thing every morning (which was very civilised and welcome!). Top marks go to Freddie (our cook) who managed to bake 2 birthday cakes - one for Martin on the first night - and more amazingly one for my fortieth birthday which fell on the day of the summit climb. They all sang Happy Birthday when I hardly had the breath to blow out the candle!
We struggled to eat the amount of food that was offered and towards the end of the trek were just ready for a cold beer and a warm bed - both of which was waiting for us a Movario Lodge - a very welcoming place. After the climb it was like coming home and Ester had even managed to find us the last bottle of champagne in a local Indian shop! All our connections and meets were there on arrival, and all the staff were helpful and friendly...........
I can't think of anything else apart from to say thank you very much - the trip was very hard and very very good. I will always remember where I was on my fortieth!! The trip has really given us a fabulous experience we will remember for ever (- and so will our friends and families who are being constantly shown photos and told stories!!)
We will recommend you to our friends.
Asante sana

Dear Nick, Jeremy and Clare
Jambo - just wanted to let you know that every aspect of the holiday went exactly to plan and we have brought home with us uncountable memorable experiences: the amazing sight of 100's of thousands of zebra & wildebeest traversing the Serengeti Musabi plains - as far as the eye could see in every direction hippos cavorting and crocodiles gliding in the Grumeti River a leopard kill at dusk vultures moving in on a recent kill herds of 20 plus elephant lakes shimmering pink with flamingo in the Ngorongoro Crater the supreme comfort and atmosphere of Kirawira - the unexpected variety of birdlife; stunning sunrises and sunsets from our tent; the sudden cessation of birdsong as the sun disappeared and the onset of the hum of cicada; the thrill of the sound of impala outside our tent at night; the indulgence of early morning coffee, while watching the plain below come to life a 2 week break from telephones, radio and television A special word needs to be said about the superb job that Felician did as our driver and guide - his encyclopaedic knowledge and incredible ability for spotting animal and bird life. He really was highly professional and provided a service beyond that which we would have expected.
And, as you predicted Nick, `no nasty surprises' from the organisational point of view - the itinerary went absolutely to schedule. Met at every point along the way by friendly and courteous Tanzanians, who seemed to have our interests at heart.
The time and effort you put into our itinerary, answering our many queries, your invaluable last minute tips - all contributed to an unforgettable trip of a lifetime for which we are very grateful.
Yours sincerely
Margaret and Wendy

Sam
Just a quick note to let you know that the trip was absolutely fantastic - all-in-all a real adventure. I would also like to extend a big thank you to yourself and Gane and Marshall for organising it so effectively and to offer my thanks to you personally for the excellent service that you provided me in preperation for it. I have already told a dozen people about it and passed my brochure to a couple of people who are seriously interested.
The service from Exporandes was in Lima and on the trail was excellent and ok in Cusco (they were a bit tardy in letting me know logistics etc for the trips etc).
Dispite my reservations the trek was actually relatively quiet. Because we had effectively staggered our journey by half a day verses the organised tours, we didn't see any other treckers on two of the three days and 2 out of the 3 camp sites. The tents etc were excellent and I felt a little embarrassed by the level of attention and service that I received from the Cook and the porters.
The weather could have been better, but this added to the adventure. Even though I had planned the dates to be in the dry season we had lots and lots of rain - we had very heavy rain on a couple of the days and sleet during one evening and night! However, we did have dry weather for the last day which meant that we arrived at the sun gate and walked down to Micchu Picchu in sunlight.
Some things that I though you might be interested to know -
-
They provided me with thermarest type mattress - my thermarest stayed in its bag!
-
I took two water bottles and filled them in the evening for the next day - with hindsight it might have been better to have one but to refill it at lunch-time. They provided boiled water, but I used iodine tablets just to be sure.
-
Some of the steps are very high so having 1 or 2 walking sticks is essential.
-
The Micchu Picchu Pueblo hotel in Agua Calienties is fabulous - by far the best of the three hotels that I stayed in and by far the best food. It has beautiful gardens and if I went again I would stay there an extra night.
-
Food on the trail was excellent and in large portions - unfortunately my appetite was significantly reduced by the altitude so I didn't eat much of the 3 course meals that they prepared!
-
Only Quente - the first camp that we stayed in has toilet and shower facilities.
-
The porters set up a toilet tent when-ever they camped - lunch-time and evenings. This was an interesting contraption!
-
There were 8 porters (1 doubled up as the chef) and a Guide. This appears to be the minimum number for any trek.
Thanks again.
Regards Ramesh Harji

Sam
We have all returned safe and sound from a successful Kilimanjaro climb. Thanks for all your help during the planning of the climb. I am aware that a lot of work went into it from your end - especially in having to coordinate with The ISIS Foundation, a charity which was new to you.
The purpose of this email is to record the group's appreciation of our guides Daniel Ngoro and Felix Mtui. Both these gentlemen provided superior leadership and genuine support and responsiveness to our group. Quite frankly, I doubt that we would have been successful without them. Not only did they do a superb job with leading the climb itself, they consistently provided knowledgeable insights about the environment, history, ecology, etc. throughout. In addition, they kept a watchful eye on each of us and made sure that everything possible was in place to ensure a successful summit and a positive personal experience. Their leadership was also clearly evident in their management of the porters who also did a great job in helping to move and set up our various camps as well as giving us additional assistance whenever needed.
I would also like to take the opportunity to acknowledge the fine work of the chef, Valance, who consistently provided great meals for us in the 'hardship' conditions of the mountains.
The project Pinnacle team has been extremely impressed with the superior service provided during the climb and ask that our thanks and recognition be passed on to Danny and Felix and their team, through GMTanzania who should be truly proud to have such outstanding employees on their staff.
Regards Edmina

Hey!
Sam and the drivers, at our Africa basses, made us welcome & ensured enjoyable, trouble free transfers. All of the Kilimanjaro team put themselves out to ensure that we achieved our goal to summit and that we enjoyed the experience. The food was plentiful & surprisingly good in the circumstances. The leaders deserve special mention. Consair(?) and Freddie were always friendly and helpful, adding to our appreciation of the adventure. Lastly, but definitely not least, our leader Daniel Ngoro should be commended for his input to our holiday. His quiet personality was endearing but in no way lessened his informative briefings & motivational comments during the treks. He was keen to share his knowledge of the fauna & flora which I, in particular, found fascinating. Everyone taking part in the treks agreed how good Daniel was & how he had been key to our success and enjoyment.
GMTanzania have established a good reputation & it is clear that your policy is to build upon this. I have always believed that personal recommendation is the best form of advertising & your reputation will only be enhanced by my comments to anyone who will listen to my stories of a great holiday. Prior to the trip, I only read your catalogue with Kilimanjaro in mind but now I intend to read cover to cover & dream of my next GMTanzania experience.

Hi
I cannot speak highly enough about the whole crew on the mountain. The food was great and the porters did a fabulous job. How they cope with these loads is incredible and always with such good humour.
I particularly want to mention the level of care and commitment shown by both Daniel and Fredi. Daniel shows a maturity of approach which belies his years and Fredi is so keen to do well and is so helpful that everything was made as easy as possible.
The trip continued to live up to this high standard on the safari and once again our driver guide Felician was fantastic. He helped us to see a wonderful variety of wildlife and was so informative about what was going on
Both my sister and I fell in love with Tanzania and have decided that if it is possible we will come back to do a safari at some time in the future. We will certainly be recommending your firm to anyone thinking of going on a trip to Africa.
All the arrangenments both in this country and in Tanzania were excellent and we always felt cared for and that the success of our holiday was as important to you as it was to us.
Once again thank you

Team
We have now been back home for a week and have finally recovered from the gruelling yet challenging climb up Kilimanjaro. We were both delighted to have reached the summit in spite of Mary not having been well and Ian leaving England with a throat infection.
The route chosen by you was spectacular and must have given us every opportunity to acclimatise fully as I think if we had done the swift route we would have failed. We are of course very proud of ourselves.
We would also like to add how well the whole trip was organised and how much we enjoyed it. Our trek leader, Joachim was such an encouragement and so kind and good humoured. The food was always most plentiful and delicious and nothing ever seemed too much trouble. All the porters and guides were always so willing to help.
I should have asked for this before we went, but I would now like it afterwards for a souvenir and retracing our many footsteps, but could you please send us a map of the trek area we did on Kilimanjaro and we will send you a cheque to cover the cost.
